Another MAME WIP update from yesterday (sorry, I was occupied). 27th February 2001: Nicola Salmoria added Puzzli to the Metro driver. Zsolt Vasvari fixed a missing sound in Carnival. Uki fixed CPU speeds in Nemesis hardware games, and he added another Salamander romset.

Ultracade Game Packs

There have been two new game packs added to Ultracade... Jaleco Classics 1 and STERN Classics. If you don't know what Ultracade is then head on over and read the site.

More news and snapshots on the MAME WIP page. 28th February 2001: Nicola Salmoria added Bounty to the Orca driver, and he improved the Neo Geo raster effects emulation. Phil Stroffolino added Dynamic Ski to the Shanghai Kid driver, but it lacks correct colors. Jarek Burczynski re-added Sonic Blast Man to the Taito B driver.

The MAME WIP page gets updated regularly nowadays. There are quite a few additions and fixes in this update, including savestate support (although it needs every driver updating).

Final Burn v0.106 has been released, adding support for Final Fight (CPS-1 game) and various fixes since v0.104.

The MAME WIP page has been updated. 24th February 2001: David Graves fixed a few graphics glitches in the newest Taito drivers and integrated insideoutboy's Space Gun target crosshair code in. Nicola Salmoria added Hotdog Storm to the Cave driver. Jürgen Buchmüller sent another DECO Cassette system driver update with a few bugfixes.

Some more news over at the MAME WIP page. David Haywood improved the Red Clash sprite decoding on the driver started by 'inkling', but the game is far from playable. Logiqx submitted some fixes to the -listinfo output.

Final Burn received an update to the CPS-1 sound support (now complete) and a fix for CPS-2 speed.

The MAME WIP page has been updated again but with some screenshots this time. Jürgen Buchmüller added Bigfoot Bonkers to the Lazer Command driver. Nicola Salmoria got Chequered Flag working, but background / sprite graphics priority control is not implemented yet. Bryan McPhail and David Graves wrote a driver for Taito Super Z system, with support for Super Chase, Gunbuster and Under Fire. Aaron Giles fixed a bug in the analog port input system which sometimes caused analog inputs to jump quickly between the minimum and maximum values.

EMAME (MAME for the Psion EPOC32) has been updated to version 1.1. This version adds sound and many new games.

The MAME WIP page had an update for the past few days work. Jürgen Buchmüller fixed some memory corrupting bugs in the Burger Time and DECO Cassette system drivers. Nicola Salmoria added buffering to the keyboard input code, allowing more than two keypresses at the same time. This fixes Zangief's spin in Street Fighter 2. Final Burn v1.03 was released, adding Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo, changing SSF2 to use the new XOR and a couple of minor fixes.

A new unofficial version of MAME32 has been released. StretchMAME32 stretches all games to full screen on Windows machines. Very nice!

The MAME WIP page has been updated. E. Watanabe fixed the ASM 68k core to work with Namco System 2 and Taito F3 sound. Bernd Wiebelt fixed the 32-bit MMX blitting routines. Phil Stroffolino sent in an almost completely working Shanghai Kid driver.

Three versions of Final Burn have been released. They add back the original CPS-2 games along with Super Street Fighter 2 and Marvel Super Heroes.

Modeler 0.1.1

Modeler v0.1.1 has been released, adding Virtua Racing and Virtua Fighter from the Model 1 version of Modeler (v0.0.6). Arabian Fight has also been added. Up to date in CAESAR (with snapshots).

MAME v0.37b12 has been released, adding loads of games (amongst which are those CPS-2 games you seem so keen on). I'm currently rebuilding CAESAR accordingly and will hopefully upload within the next hour.

Another update for the recent releases: Modeler v0.1.0a, Calice v0.1.0, Final Burn v0.097, Glide Renderer for Impact, Genital68K v0.22 and XMAME v0.37b11.2. Barry Rodewald has now moved to EmuUnlim now as well.

Another day, another WIP update. Jürgen Buchmüller improved the sound CPU communication in the DECO Cassette system driver and added Boulder Dash - the original version. With Nicola Salmoria's help, he also fixed some 6808 CPU core bugs that prevented Fire Truck from working. Olivier Galibert fixed a small bug in the K054539 sound chip emulation that caused a few missing sounds in X-men. Quench fixed the Toaplan1 games to work correctly in 16bpp mode. Andrea Mazzoleni added a nice filtering sound resampling algorithm for the driver that do not produce sound at the requested sample rate.

Final Burn has gone back to it's roots and removed CPS-1 and CPS-2 support. Dave will now be focusing on getting the Sega games emulated correctly.

The MAME WIP page has been upadted to show the last few days work. Amongst the things mentioned are fixes to the PC relative addressing in the 68K core (that'll be CPS-2 related), tilemap improvements and several new games including Robocop 2.

Geez, I just looked at the CPS-2 message board and the world has gone mad whilst waiting for a new Final Burn! Davey has posted his views on the future of Final Burn and I fully understand his sentiments. Dave has pioneered the emulation of CPS-2 and what he has discovered will be incorporated into MAME in due course. There is no need for Dave to be slave to the masses who want every CPS-2 game emulated asap. Just chill out and give him a break...

Caught up with the recent updates of VAntAGE v1.1 and Calice v0.0.8. There was also a new version of Musashi (v3.3.1), the 68000/68020 core used by MAME. Lastly, I updated some of the home page links that have changed recently.

Another day, another WIP update. 10th Feb: Gerardo Oporto fixed dip switch settings in Taito B system and Ninja Warriors drivers. David Haywood added Cuby Bop and a few clone romsets to the Taito L system driver, and another Mr. Do! Run Run romset to the Mr Do's Castle driver.

The Mimic home page has a small WIP about analogue controls being added and Mickey McMurray is now working on emulating discrete systems (see the Laser home page). No sign of a new Final Burn for playing Super Street Fighter 2, I guess Dave is either busy or teasing us. :)

Mimic posted some news about how Riddle is coming on. MAME posted news about recent progress including Street Fighter the Movie and PC relative mode being added to the 68k core (this is needed for CPS-2 emulation btw).

Wow, almost 600 pages updated tonight! RAINE, RAINE32 and RAINE for Linux had a big release yesterday. Also released were Laser v0.16 (special) and Calice v0.0.6. Several releases of Final Burn have passed by in the last few days and I'm sure there'll be more where they came from! Also updated have been MAMEBoy and MAMECePod had updates. VSyncMAME has moved to MAMEWorld and WinGorf has moved to EmuUnlim.

I am completely bogged down here (far too much to do) so emu stuff will have to wait for a day. Big news for today is the first release of RAINE since August, several releases of Final Burn (adding X-Men and sound to CPS-1) plus another release of Calice (adding several more games).
